Although many people are familiar with the many skin supporting properties of aloe vera as an ingredient in cosmetic formulas, not everyone is aware that it can be utilised in powder form, for an extra concentrated and enhanced effect.
To get started, here are a few ways you can use aloe vera powder in your everyday rituals:
Tip #1: Turn it into a skin-soothing mask – Another amazing way we love to use aloe vera powder is in a clay mask recipe, which can be easily made and applied any time you’d like a bit of pampering at-home care. We recommend the following recipe, which can be used to help sensitive skin, reduce redness and promote overall balance.
ALMND’s Signature Clay Mask Recipe:
● 1 tbsp clay powder
● Pinch of plant extract
● Splash floral water
● Few drops of carrier oils
1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and keep adding floral water until your mixture forms a smooth wet paste.
2. Apply on dry skin using an applicator brush and let set for 10-15 minutes or until dried.
3. Gently rinse off with warm water and pat dry.
4. As a finishing touch, apply 3-4 drops of face oil to seal in hydration.
Tip #2: Mix it with body lotion for an all over calming treatment – Lastly, you won’t want to miss out on the hydration benefits of aloe for your whole body. A bit of powder, mixed in with your favourite body butter or lotion, can help to support long-lasting moisture, leaving the skin feeling super soft and smooth.
Other Important Things To Note: Because aloe vera powder extract is very concentrated, only a small amount is needed to create your own mixes. For best results, we suggest following these ratio guidelines:
Concentration: 200:1 - To make a 1:1 solution suitable for an organic formula, add 0.5g of Aloe powder to 99.5g of purified water. Add between 0.1 - 1% of Aloe powder in your formula.
